School subjects are influenced in different scale by the switches between online and in-person education. Compared to the lessons mainly based on reception of information and development of understanding such as natural sciences or requiring presenting a written solution such as mathematics, the humanitarian lessons were deeply affected by the limitations in the interactions among students and the teachers. In this way, many taught subjects such as native language, literature, history, ethics, etc. were prevented from exercising necessary expression and communication skills of students within interactive discussions. Active discussions and class interactivity develop students’ social skills, positive behaviours, and capabilities— all those crucial for future citizens. Students need a supportive surrounding and a safe learning environment in which they can socialize and build communication and expression skills. In a virtual classroom, it is extremely difficult to give the tutor an adequate assessment of the level of motivation to the student. Therefore, there is the need of development of new indicators, accustomed both to real and virtual classrooms, which could help the tutor monitor and raise the level of motivation of the students.

With respect to this, WeCommit project objective is to address deficiencies during online education in terms of developing communication and expression skills within humanitarian school disciplines focusing on disadvantaged students falling behind and getting them closer to their peers. The specific objectives are the provision of guiding materials for students adapted to those with poor skills, equipping teachers with applicable pedagogical approaches and supporting thematic sets, as well as raising attractiveness and efficiency of the training on humanitarian subjects by production of interactive and visualized elements.

EnFinCap

The aim of EnFinCap is to equip self-employed women micro-entrepreneurs with skills, knowledge and self-confidence to take responsibility for their lives and create a secure future for themselves and their families. To reach this goal EnFinCap will compile country reports on the current situation regarding training for (aspiring) women entrepreneurs in financial literacy and entrepreneurship (incl. survey among women entrepreneurs). Additionally, an e-platform for the target group with integrated micro-trainings will be developed. To complement the platform an e-learning course for financial competences and entrepreneurship with e-textbook (selected contents of the e-learning) will be developed and made available. Finally, a Learning-teaching-training event will be conducted to finalise the project.

IDEAL

innovative digital language learning for the healthcare sector

The IDEAL project will bridge the gap between recognized language skill deficits and current VET training/teaching/counselling methods in the healthcare sector. It will do this by developing an innovative online language learning approach, consisting of learning videos and an interactive glossary, which will be a part of a digital learning platform, and secondly, a teacher’s handbook with practical and methodological guidelines for the best usage of the videos, glossary and other materials collected. Additionally, it aims to offer digital learning tools to students and trainees in neighbouring countries so that they can improve their German language skills and enter the healthcare sector.

The project aims to contribute to raising the practical skill level of VET trainers/teachers/counsellors, and improve German language skills and labour market integration of trainees in the healthcare sector. Furthermore, it seeks to promote the use of iinnovative digital learning tools for language proficiency and skills training, and transfer knowledge in this area among countries. Finally, the project aims to contribute to better employability for people from partner countries wishing to train/work in the healthcare sector in German-speaking countries.

SOTERIA

User friendly, digital secured personal data and privacy platform

SOTERIA aims to drive a paradigm shift on data protection and enable active participation of citizens to their own security, privacy and personal data protection. SOTERIA will develop and test in 3 large-scale real-world use cases, a citizen-driven and citizen-centric, cost-effective, marketable service to enable citizens to control their private personal data easily and securely. Led by an SME, this project will develop, using a user-driven and user-centric design, a revolutionary tool, uniquely combining, in a user-friendly manner, a high-level identification tool with a decentralised secured data storage platform, to enable all citizens, whatever their gender, age or ICT skills, to fully protect and control their personal data while also gaining enhanced awareness on potential privacy risks. SOTERIA solution will be tested and validated through 3 realworld large-scale use-cases, involving 6,500 European citizens, targeting 3 applications which usefulness has been highlighted during COVID-19 pandemic: e-learning, e-voting and e-health.

This 3-year transdisciplinary project from both SSH and technology angles, will develop an innovative solution based on: a secured access interface relying on high-level identification, a smart platform processing data to transmit only the minimum personal data required, a secured data storage platform (decentralized architecture) under the full control of the citizen, an educational tool to raise awareness of citizens developed using a citizen-driven and citizen-centric approach. The technologies developed will i) empower citizens to monitor and audit their personal data; ii) restore trust on privacy, security and personal data protection of citizens in digital services; iii) be fully compliant to GDPR regulation and apply strictly the data minimization principle; iv) ensure cybersecurity.
